COVID-19: Kano Residents Laud FG’s Move to Mitigate Impact

Residents in  Kano have commended the efforts of the Federal government to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19  pandemic on the economy, agriculture and educational sectors in the country.
Some of the residents who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Kano, said the move was commendable and timely.
Mr Umar Abdulrazak, a farmer, expressed with the President’s order to the Minister of  Agriculture to work with the presidential task force committee with the view to minimise the effect of the pandemic.
He said, “I was delighted because I felt secured that the government is thinking ahead of us as farmers at the grassroots.”
Another respondent,  Mr Muftahu Isa, said that the order for collaboration among several ministries was an excellent move.
He lauded the Federal Government’s strategy and approach towards combating the Coronavirus pandemic across the country.
“It is unfortunate that the lockdown in some states had to continue for more weeks, but I believe many countries that were badly affected had a different approach,” He said.
Malam Usman Baffa, a trader at Kwari market, also expressed delight that the President was up and doing to sustain the economy and other sectors from being badly affected by the pandemic.
He expressed optimism that the approach might drastically tackle the pandemic with lesser effect in the country than expected.
NAN reports that President Muhammadu Buhari, had during a national wide broadcast on Monday, ordered some Ministers to work with the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 to reduce the impact of the pandemic on the various sectors.
