COVID-19: Patient Escapes From Isolation Centre in Taraba

Despite numerous appeals to Nigerians not to run away from isolation centres when they test positive to COVID-19, another patient has run away from an isolation centre in Taraba.

This was announced by the Chairman of the Taraba State technical committee on COVID-19, Dr. Innocent Vakkai during a press briefing on Saturday.

Dr. Vakkai who also doubles as the State Commissioner for Health, said a manhunt had been launched to track the escaped patient identified as Talatu Idris while urging members of the public to be vigilant.

Although the state has 8 confirmed Coronavirus cases, the state government relaxed a lockdown it imposed to contain the virus for two days while making wearing of masks compulsory for residents.

Earlier in the week, a nursing mother who tested positive to COVID-19 was also declared wanted after she escaped from an isolation centre with her one year old baby.
