A total of five individuals have lost their lives after some rival cult groups clashed in the Idemili-North and Ovi areas of Anambra state.
While the attack was reported to have been very bloody, no concrete information has been provided as to why the cults groups went berserk on one another.
Speaking with newsmen from Punch, a source merely revealed that a disagreement caused the brawl.
On his part, Anambra State Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed, explained, “It was a cult clash. They equally shot two others at Ogidi. Police patrol teams rushed to the scene and took the victims to the hospital for medical attention, but they were certified dead on arrival.
“The police are intensifying efforts to apprehend perpetrators in order to bring them to justice.”
He further mentioned that officers of the force are already on the trail of the culprits as the environments where the clashes occurred had been kept under control.
As a result of the incidence, masking of number plates without proper authorization has been banned.
