Nigerian Singer Davido has gotten a lot of media attention over the last couple of weeks with his involvement with Chioma, the Porsche purchase, a new single and so on.
But the one thing that captured the imagination of most was the report that he had purchased a private jet.
As many already know, private Jets do not come cheap, so when it was announced that the ‘Fall’ singer had purchased one, many people were awed by the blatant display of wealth.
It has, however, now been reported that Davido does not indeed own a private jet.
According to the Capital, Davido is actually a fractional owner of a private jet.
Sources close to the situation told the news outlet that Davido’s ‘friends/partners’ are the majority owners of the jet while Davido owns just a small stake in it.
Davido has been made the poster child of the project, however, due to his star power and bankability.
According or the Capital, the plan is to show off the jet on social media which in turn lends to Davido’s influence which in turn could lead to deals with multinationals and net the entire crew more Money.
The jet will be available for Davido’s use and for his people and a sharing formula has been agreed with the music star.
The Capital also reports that this is not particularly a new practice as there are many ‘Private jet’ owners who are also in similar partnerships.
