The ongoing drama between Senator Dino Melaye (PDP – Kogi West) and the Nigerian Police Force continued on Wednesday with the senator publishing a video of an attack on his bullet-proof vehicle.
In the 1.04 minute video, Melaye’s armoured Mercedes Benz G-Wagon could be seen riddled with bullets.
Before the attack, Melaye said on his Twitter handle, six personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) that escorted him were disarmed by the police and arrested.

In yet another video purportedly taken in his hideout, the 45-year-old Melaye promised to continue to rely on God to see him through his current travails.

The police have laid siege to Melaye’s home in the highbrow Maitama area of Abuja since Friday over alleged attempted culpable homicide.
According to a statement by Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, the officers deployed to the senator’s house will remain until he surrenders himself to the force over the matter.
Melaye and some suspects were accused of shooting a police officer, Sgt. Danjuma Saliu, attached to 37 Police Mobile Force (PMF) while on duty in Aiyetoro Gbede, Mopa Road in Kogi.
Moshood said that the officer allegedly shot by Melaye has yet to recover from the gunshot injury he sustained during the attack.
Melaye has compared his travails to that of the Biblical Prophet Elijah, who escaped assassination plots by King Ahab and his wife Jezebel.
