Mr David Popoola, the State Pastor of Living Faith Church, Lokoja, has said that the present economic hardship is not peculiar to Nigeria but a global phenomenon.

Popoola made the statement in Lokoja on Sunday in a sermon, entitled “Bases for Financial Prosperity”.

He said: “the only escape route out of the present untold hardships, especially as Christians, is to faithfully engage in covenant practices and God will supply our needs.

“As true followers of Christ, his death on the Calvary tree had automatically given us access to enjoy prosperity if only we are willing to obey his commands.

“By redemption we have been redeemed by Christ to live and enjoy supernatural wealth irrespective of economic challenges.”

He named covenant practices as giving to the poor, needy, parents, prophets of God, kingdom projects and paying of tithe and offering.

Others are walking in integrity and holiness, divine guidance, being a blessing to others, speaking right words and rejoicing always.

He admonished all Nigerians to continue to offer prayers for those in leadership positions for wisdom to succeed.

“God commanded us to offer prayers for our leaders and those that are running the affairs of government to rule with the fear of God,” Popoola said. (NAN)
