Nyesom Wike, Rivers state Governor has urged women to defend their votes in Edo 2020 gubernatorial poll.

The battle for Edo governorship seat became fierce after Governor Obaseki and his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole had a fallout which caused the latter to endorse Ize-Iyamu’s candidacy.

However, Obaseki has gained new allies following his decampment to Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

Rivers state Governor, Wike while canvassing votes for Obaseki in a campaign urged women to wear denim trousers on election day.

According to him, Denim trousers are comfortable and easy to wear which would enable the women to defend their votes until a Winner is announced.

This may not be unconnected to Kogi and Bayelsa elections allegedly laden with violence and rigging.

United States government on Monday imposed a visa ban on politicians involved in the election misconduct of both states.

To avoid a recurrence of the incident, Wike urged all  women to wear jean trousers and abandon their skirts for the time being.
