EFCC Raids 78 Hostels In OAU, Abducts Over 60 Students At Midnight

Officials of the Economic Financial Crime Commission(EFCC) reportedly barged into the rooms of 78 students of Obafemi Awolowo University(OAU), at early hours of today, November 1, 2023, asking for car keys and phones to access their emails, before eventually abducting 50 students in a 14-passenger bus to Ibadan.

The perpetrators who are believed to be kidnappers, malhandled and slapped the students while arranging them into the bus, it was learnt.

Information about the abducted students’ location was revealed via a WhatsApp group chat message by one of the abducted students, who had sneaked his phone with him.

The victim pleaded for help, saying as he believed they were in danger.

A netizen on X (formerly Twitter) by the name “@greatfemzek” assured the public of the students’ safe return.

He said, “I just put a call to the Director of VC’s office OAU. As we were on the call, he used his second phone to call the CSO. Kindly be assured they will all return safely.
