Former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai’s private visit to the Abuja home of former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has heightened rumours of a possible collaboration ahead of the 2027 general election.
Fani-Kayode announced El-Rufai’s visit in a Facebook post on Friday, March 15.
Recall that the duo served in the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo. While El-Rufai was Minister of FCT, Fani-Kayode was Minister of Aviation.
They also served in the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign in the 2023 general election.
However, El-Rufai’s visit to Fani-Kayode has set tongues wagging as the duo were rarely seen together in public, let alone visiting each other at home.
Sharing photos of the visit, Fani-Kayode said, “It was an honor and pleasure to receive one of my closest, dearest and most respected friends and brothers, the former Governor of Kaduna state and the former Minister of FCT, Mallam Nasir El Rufai, in my Abuja home this afternoon.
“We discussed crucial national issues and had a fruitful and productive meeting.
“Mallam is an irrepressible force in Nigerian politics and has been one of its primary movers and shakers for the last 23 years.
“He has done so much for our country and I have no doubt that he will still do so much more.”
