The Founder of X Corp., Elon Musk, has announced that all the company’s revenues from advertising and subscriptions associated with the war in Gaza would be donated to hospitals in Israel and the Red Cross in Gaza.

Musk announced this on his X platform on Tuesday evening.

The tech billionaire has been facing intense criticism recently for supporting an X post deemed by many to be antisemitic.

Musk did not give any details on how the social media company would donate the funds or how much would be donated.

However, in a follow-up post, he said X Corp. would track how funds are spent through the Red Cross and Red Crescent to ensure it doesn’t end up with Hamas.

“We will track how funds are spent and go through Red Cross/Crescent. Better ideas are welcome. We should care about the innocent regardless of race, creed, religion or anything else,” the 52-year-old wrote.

Established in July 2023, X Corp. is the successor company to Twitter, Inc., which owned Twitter (now renamed X) which Musk acquired in 2022.

“We should do whatever we can to build a better future for all,” Musk added.

Earlier in the day, a group of US lawmakers sent a latter to Musk and CEO of X, Linda Yaccarino, alleging that the social media platform was profiting off pro-Hamas propaganda by allowing gruesome videos on X following Hamas’ attack on Israel in October.

The Democrat lawmakers, numbering over two dozen, queried why the posts and the accounts remained on the platform for days after X policy violation notifications had been appended to the videos.
