ENDA Donates 15 Motorcycles In Nasarawa To Boost Security Operations

The Egbura National Development Association (ENDA), on Tuesday, donated 15 motorcycles to security agents to boost security operations in Toto Local Government area of Nasarawa State.

Mr. Mohammed Isimbabi, the ENDA Welfare, Finance and Implementation Committee Officer, presented the motorcycles to the Chairman of the local government, Mr. Nuhu Adamu-Dauda.

Isimbabi said 10 of the motorcycles were for the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) in the council area and the remaining five for the military super camp, situated at Kanyehu village in the area.

He said that the gesture was aimed at curtailing the insecurity challenges facing the area.

“This singular gesture is to express our appreciation to their gallant efforts at dislodging the dreaded Darus-salam bandits who are terrorizing the local government area.

“ENDA, as a body, is pleased with this singular effort. We will, as a body, continue to partner with security agents in the area to ensure a crime-free council area.

“It should be stated that the activities of bandits and kidnappers in the past had affected the lives of our people negatively,” he said.

He said that the association was constructing Kenyehu-Uttu road to link Kparekye in Koton Karfe Local Government area in Kogi, in order to boost the security of the area.

“A semi-model health facility is also under construction, while we are drilling borehole to ease the work of our gallant officers.

“These are what ENDA, as body, is doing for now. We are grateful to governor and this is part of our efforts to show support to his administration,” he said.

Responding, the Chairman of the local government, expressed appreciation to the association, urging other good-spirited individuals to support the Gov. Abdullahi Sule-led administration in ensuring peace in the state.

Adamu-Dauda also restated his continued commitment to the peace- building policy of the governor for the overall development of the area and the state at large.

Also speaking, the Ohimege Opanda of Umaisha, Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, applauded ENDA, especially for grading the Kenyehu-Uttu road and its other activities in the area.

The first class traditional ruler appealed to the governor to consider the Kenyehu-Uttu road construction as a major project, saying that it was the shortest link between Nasarawa and Kogi states, and one of the feeder roads in the council area. (NAN)
