Ex Man United coach, Moyes Gets The Sack At Sociedad

1 Min Read

Real Sociedad have sacked manager David Moyes, a day short of his one year anniversary at the club.

The former Manchester United manager put pen to paper to coach the Basque side on November 10, 2014, in a deal that should have seen him last till June 2016.

He was relieved of his post at Old Trafford after barely ten months in charge.

He put up an above average performance, by Sociedad’s standards, in his first season, helping them to a 12thplace finish in the La Liga.

However, after Friday’s 2-0 loss to Las Palmas, the San Sebastian-based side decided to give him the boot, alongside assistant manager Billy McKinlay.

Sociedad are currently in 16th place on the table, with goal difference keeping them out of the relegation zone, and have only won 2 out of 11 games in the league this season.

The club next play Sevilla and Barcelona in the league.
