Phyna, the former Big Brother Naija reality show winner, has disclosed the significant toll social media controversies have taken on her career, revealing the loss of a staggering 17 brand deals. In an insightful interview on Doyin’s Corner, Phyna delved into the challenges she faced since gaining fame in 2022, particularly addressing the fallout from a series of social media controversies.
The reality TV star recounted a specific incident where one prominent brand labeled her as an ‘abuser,’ leading to the rejection of a potential collaboration. The controversy erupted when blogs accused Phyna of slapping her ex-boyfriend, Groovy, purportedly due to him securing a deal meant for both of them without her knowledge.
During the interview, Phyna shared, “Two weeks ago, my manager and I did a calculation of how many deals I lost from last year till now. We counted 17 deals. A big brand told me that the reason for not working with me is because I’m an abuser. They said they can’t work with an abuser, and this was coming at the period that bloggers accused me of slapping someone.”
