Fourty-Seven Ondo State House Of Assembly Aspirants Protest Disqualification.

Forty-seven aspirants of the Ondo State House of Assembly Elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have protested their unjust disqualification by the party’s screening committee.

Mr. Benedict Adewusi of of PDP Aspirants Forum “It is the norm of the party to issue clearance certificates to the aspirants immediately after the screening, but to our surprise, we were not issued the certificates on the same day, only to know later that our certificates were dumped at the reception of the hotel, where they carried out the exercise,iIt was later that we discovered that none of the 47 of us was cleared, in spite of the fact that we had fulfilled all the provisions of Part Six of the electoral guidelines of our party.”

He also said that other aspirants who defected by Labour Party were cleared by the committee even though they did not have their names on the membership list of the party and they have not spent 30 days in the party. The aspirants said they will consult their lawyers on the next line of action. The director of publicity of PDP in the state, Mr. Ayo Fadaka also condemned the disqualification of the aspirants.
