French police launched an anti-terrorism operation in the south-eastern Alpes-Maritimes region, a police source said on Tuesday.
The operation came a week after France enacted tougher security laws to put an end to emergency powers that had been in place since Islamist militants attacked Paris two years ago.
Over 240 people have been killed in France since early 2015 in strikes by Islamist militants or assailants inspired by the Islamic State militant group. (Reuters/NAN)
