Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy has achieved another milestone, becoming the first African artist to stage the highest-grossing arena concert in America. According to Touring Data, an international platform that tracks ticket sales, Burna Boy’s concert at TD Garden in Boston on March 2, 2024, generated $1.593 million, surpassing his previous record.

The “I Told Them” tour sold out in multiple cities, including Montreal, Toronto, Boston, and Cologne, with over 124,706 tickets sold at an average price of $93.50. The tour grossed $11,659,531, approximately N16 billion.

Burna Boy’s success comes despite the rivalry between Nigerian music acts. He has been listed among the TIME 100 Most Influential People of 2024 and has made history with his sold-out performances at Citi Field in New York and London Stadium in the UK.

The “I Told Them” tour, produced by Live Nation, kicked off on November 3, 2023, at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles and concluded on March 9, 2024, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Burna Boy’s album “I TOLD THEM…” debuted at number one on the official UK Albums chart, making him the first international African artist to achieve this feat.
