Fuji Legend Kwam1 Denies Mistreating Band Members, Refutes Passport Confiscation Claims

Veteran Fuji musician Kwam1, real name Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, is embroiled in a controversy after former band members accused him of mistreatment, including passport confiscation.

Ayankunle Ayanlowo, a drummer who claims to have worked with Kwam1 for over 30 years, alleges a pattern of abuse and withholding passports during international tours. However, Kwam1 vehemently denies these claims, calling them an attempt to damage his reputation.

In a recent interview, Kwam1 explained that Ayanlowo, along with other band members, actually absconded from the band during a tour in England in the 1990s. He claims Ayanlowo’s passport was subsequently confiscated by British authorities for overstaying his visa.

Kwam1 further alleges that another band member, Ismaila Olubade, once left the group stranded in America to visit his ex-wife in London, potentially by holding onto his own passport.

These incidents, Kwam1 says, led him to disband the group and recruit new members. He strongly denies any wrongdoing regarding passports, stating that immigration authorities would have intervened if he had confiscated them.
