Nigerian musician and label owner, Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley has mourned the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Promise Aloba, better known as Mohbad.

Recall that Mohbad died on Tuesday and was buried one day later, although his cause of death remains undisclosed.

The musician quit Naira Marley’s Marlian Music label in 2022 under acrimonious circumstances.

Since the Mohmad’s demise, many Nigerians have called on the authorities to investigate some individuals alleged to have bullied the late musician, including Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry.

But in a statement he put out on Instagram on Friday, Naira Marley described the deceased as a “brother and dear friend”.

He further described him as an “exceptional talent” and “incredible street pop star who contributed to the foundation of the Marlian Music”.

He said that despite their disagreement that led to Mohbad leaving, the label did not wish harm on the late musician.
