An Ilorin Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday remanded a herdsman, Dariya Mairaya, over the alleged armed robbery.
The Magistrate, Mrs Jumoke Bamigboye, ordered the remand of the defendant at Oke-Kura Correctional Centre, Ilorin, and adjourned the case till Tuesday for further mention.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Abdullahi Sanni, had told the court that the defendant attacked one Bawa Kofi of Kalsakawa Village in Kaima Local Government Area of the state.
Sanni said that Mairaya, in company with three others currently at large, invaded the home of the complainant while armed with guns and cutlasses and robbed him at gunpoint.
He said that the robbers stole from the complainant three cell phones, one motorcycle key and N320,000 cash.
The prosecutor said the defendant was arraigned on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
He added that the alleged offences contravened Sections 6(B) and 1(2) of the Conspiracy and Armed Robbery and Firearms (special provisions) Act Cap R11 Law of Nigeria, 2004.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
