Each of us in childhood watched a cartoon about Pokémons, collected the cards and played these games. But sometimes we want to nostalgize, and that’s why the developers pleased us with the game Pokemon Sapphire. In it, you can plunge into the world of unusual creatures and try yourself in the role of one of the heroes of the cartoon.

All games of the main Pokémon series are more or less conservative and in each of them, we have to collect Pokémons around the world, train them and eventually become the best Pokémon coach, defeating a strong team of opponents. Visually, now everything that we see is very similar to Pokémon X&Y – if you do not understand the games of the series and see them for the first time, it may seem that this is the same project. But this is not so.
The work on the new game has been done tremendously, and the whole world looks as if it was originally created taking 3D graphics into account. At the same time, nothing has been changed so as to become unrecognizable. So we have a lot of familiar on the 2D version of the Pokémon, and a lot of new ones, specially invented for the update. Collecting all Pokémons will become a very difficult task since there are already more than 700 Pokémons in this part of the game.
Some locations changed their appearance completely and acquired new storylines and side quests. Developers did this to explain in detail all the innovations that appeared in the series after the release of the original games, such as the Mega Evolution.
Many functions from X and Y migrated to a new game too. Search systems for players suitable for battles, super-training and similar useful functions. The most important is the new DexNav application for the series, which allows you to see if all the Pokémons in a certain zone have already been caught or we need to look for some more in the grass. Also appeared a scanner that allows you to sneak up to a new, unknown Pokémon, barely visible from the grass, to study his abilities before the battle, and also by scanning Pokémons, you can access their hidden abilities.
The ability to collect berries and combine them into special cubes that improve the characteristics of Pokémons is also there. However, now the process has become much easier than in other games of the series.
The Pokémons greatly simplify the movement around the world in this game, but in order to explore it effectively enough, you have to “carry” a few auxiliary creatures with you. You understand why – to swim, smash interfering stones, even fly.
Otherwise, you will have to skip a part of important and necessary moments and spend a lot of extra time.
The system of hidden bases is something that fans of “social” games will be happy with. Traveling around the world, we find various secret places that we can call “our own” and get access to the regime of their scenery. Thanks to this, we can create our own room, furnish it to your liking and invite your friends there, and even organize a small tournament with them.
Curious, but not the most important innovation can be considered a mechanic Contests, where you can expose your Pokémon and compete with other coaches on the network or with your friends. You can win all with the help of Pikachu and his outfits, but not always.
After passing the main storyline, a post-game begins in the form of Delta Episode, with a new character. It is here that you can catch a legendary Pokémon, in a battle that will be remembered for a long time. And at the same time here you can explore the world again, fight with high-level coaches and “finish off” the right legendary Pokémon.
From a graphical point of view, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire is one of the most beautiful games of the series. A lot of Pokémon, interesting characters and locations, and the main “chip” – very beautiful water – all this looks on the screen perfectly. It is a pity that the same cannot be said about the performance of the game as a whole. Even if you disable the 3D mode, in some battles that use particularly colorful animations, we are dealing with the subsidence of the number of frames per second. During travel, especially by air, this also becomes noticeable.
Pokémon Alpha Sapphire – the game is not without flaws, but its advantages definitely outweigh. We do not know whether it is possible to explain all the magic of these projects to those who have never played in Pokémon or limited themselves to similar games (which often appear on mobile platforms), but there is something in this product that makes you forget everything and completely immersed in a world where you need to collect and train Pokémons. These are bright, kind, and in a good way difficult games for the wide audience.
