“I am a man, my Lord” — Bobrisky tells judge before bagging six-month jail term

It is no longer news that popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, has been sentenced to six months in prison custody without an option of fine for naira abuse.

However, before his sentence was pronounced by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court, sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, there was a mild drama in court.

The biological male socialite, who is often called ‘Mummy of Lagos’ for dressing like a woman, confessed to being a man before the court.

Bobrisky’s sexuality has ignited controversy among Nigeria.

The social media influencer has at various times shared photos and videos online showing him with breasts and curves similar to woman’s and at some point said he was ready to bear a child.

Despite his online shenanigans of donning a female persona, Bobrisky was a different person in court.

Before he was handed a six-month jail term on Friday, Justice Abimbola Awogboro asked the convict of his sex, and he quickly replied, “I am a man My Lord.”

Justice Abimbola subsequently sent him to jail, ruling that the jail term commenced from March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest.
