Big Brother Naija sensation and entrepreneur, Mercy Eke, has candidly spoken out about the challenges she faced during the All-Stars edition of the reality show, asserting that she was met with significant resistance from viewers due to the sentiment tied to her previous win in the ‘Pepper Dem’ edition in 2019.

In an emotional interview with Hero Daniels, Mercy poured her heart out, revealing the internal struggles she faced while dealing with the judgment and criticisms. The reality star questioned the societal perception of her ambition, expressing how she was made to feel like she was “too greedy” for wanting more.

Mercy lamented that she faced a lack of support from a majority of the viewers, except for her devoted fans, and felt an immense pressure due to the negative narrative surrounding her desire for further success. She revealed the emotional toll it took on her mental well-being, prompting her to question her aspirations and goals.

She said “I didn’t have any support apart from my fans. It’s still in my head and I’m not lying because it’s just pure hatred and wickedness what I went through. And I thank God that I went back to the show because I didn’t know that that is how people saw me. They almost made me feel like I’m wanting too much even though I don’t have it like that.

Recalling her time in the Big Brother House, Mercy revealed her inner turmoil, grappling with the doubts and criticism from both inside and outside the House. Despite the challenges, she maintained her determination not to let the negativity dim her shine and resolved to keep pushing forward.

The reality star expressed her disappointment with the way she was perceived and criticized for simply aiming for more in her life. She emphasized that her ambition was not a crime, and she had done nothing wrong but strive for greater heights.
