Nigerian international music sensation David Adeleke, famously known as Davido, has peeled back the layers of his life, sharing revelations about his family’s wealth that left fans astonished. The Grammy nominee disclosed that he was blissfully unaware of his family’s substantial fortune until the age of 13.
During the interview, Davido provided insights into his upbringing, shedding light on his disciplined father, who, despite being affluent, opted for a modest lifestyle, driving a Honda Accord. Davido remarked, “All this talk about being rich, my dad is very disciplined. He’s quite different; you can tell he’s a very disciplined man. I didn’t know we had money till I was 13. Despite being a billionaire, my dad drove a Honda Accord, I’m telling you.”
The singer went on to reflect on a pivotal moment that unraveled the extent of his father’s wealth. Recounting an incident in Nigeria where their house was mistakenly affected, Davido vividly described their initial residence—a spacious compound with a bungalow. This residence held sentimental value for Davido, as it was where he spent his formative years, residing there from birth until around the age of 11.
