Laolu Akande, the spokesman of the immediate past vice president Yemi Osinbajo has cleared that comments he made after the end of Yemi Osinbajo’s tenure as vice president were completely his.

Making this assertion in a tweet on Saturday, Akande who served as the vice presidential spokesman between 2015 and 2023 said that all comments he had made from May 29 were completely his.

The Herald Recall that Mr Akande had while speaking in an interview with Channels Television said that the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC broke the trust of Nigerians by not electronically transmitting the 2023 general election results as promised.

The media assistant pointed out that even though INEC made the calls prior to the polls in February, it broke its promise to upload polling unit results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal.

Many had felt that Mr Akande’s comments were in continuation of the rumored cold dispute between the former vice president and President Bola Tinubu.

However, exonerating his former boss from his comments Mr Akande wrote; “I am aware some people think my comments since after May 29 were on behalf of my former boss, VP Osinbajo who I worked with 2015-2023 as media aide. It is now important to say I now ONLY speak for myself & those views I have shared & will share going forward are ENTIRELY mine.”
