Nigerian musician, Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has insisted that he has no hand in the death of his fellow musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba popularly known as Mohbad.

He said this in a statement he released on Tuesday.

Mohbad was a signee on Naira Marley’s record label, Marlian Music, until September 2022 when they parted ways.

The 27-year-old musician died on September 12, 2023.

Many Nigerians blamed Marlian Music, Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, for his death, especially after videos of the musician being bullied by them emerged on social media.

However, Naira Marley said that the last few days since Mohbad’s death has brought a lot of onslaught on his person and reputation globally.

He said he has not only been in shock over the death of Mohbad but also over various “lies” woven against him since the incident occurred.

The musician insisted that he had no hand in his former signee’s death, describing the disagreements that occurred when Mohbad was still signed to the label as “family friction”.

He also rejected claims that Marlian Music is a drug cartel masquerading as a record label.

Naira Marley also stressed that he does not belong to any cult or fraternity as claimed in many quarters.
