INEC set to distribute 141,362 PVCs in Oyo

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo state, says it has received a consignment of 141,362 Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) for distribution to their owners in the state.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Oyo, Mr Mutiu Agboke, said this in a statement on Monday in Ibadan.

Agboke said the cards were meant for those that registered under the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise between April and December 2017.

“It includes those that requested for transfer of registration, complaints of loss of cards and defaced PVCs during the period,’’ he said.

He advised voters in some polling units in Afijio, Ibadan North, Ibadan North-East Local Government Areas (LGAs) whose cards were not printed before the 2015 general elections to go to INEC offices in their respective areas for collection.

He assured other registrants whose PVCs were yet to be ready not to panic as the commission would soon make their voter cards available before the general elections, adding that no eligible Nigerians would be disenfranchised.

Agboke implored all voters to protect and preserve their PVCs from been damaged or stolen.(NAN)
