Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has issued a robust response to the N500 million defamation lawsuit filed against her by Nigerian singer Naira Marley. The legal action stems from a September 2023 Instagram post by Ojo, where she allegedly made accusations against Marley, implicating him in “spiritual and physical dealings” with the late singer Mohbad and causing him “mental harm.”
In her statement posted on Instagram, Iyabo Ojo expressed dissatisfaction with the manner in which the lawsuit was brought to her attention. She highlighted her concerns regarding the lack of proper notification and personal service in delivering the legal documents. This led her to file a counter-complaint against Naira Marley, citing potential blackmail due to what she perceives as a failure to adhere to proper legal procedures.
In response to the legal dispute initiated by Naira Marley’s lawyers, Iyabo Ojo is now demanding a staggering sum of N1 billion from the singer. She contends that the singer’s actions have misled the public and caused her undue distress, making her seek compensation for the alleged harm done.
