Former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode flouted COVID-19 protocols during a Tuesday meeting, The Herald can report.

Fani-Kayode had taken to his social media handles on Wednesday morning to disclose that he, alongside ‘his team’, met the former president at his Abuja residence.

“My team and I had the honor and privilege of spending a wonderful evening with President Goodluck Jonathan in his Abuja home last night. None like him,” the ex-minister said.

He also shared photos of the meeting.

However, The Herald observed that Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)-instituted COVID-19 protocols on social distancing and use of face masks were not observed in taking of the photos.

Meanwhile, the duo met a day after a controversial meeting between Fani-Kayode and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Although he said the meeting with the APC hierarchy was to discuss “pressing national concerns“, it led to speculation that he was planning to defect to the party whose performance he often criticizes.
