Unknown gunmen have attacked Kaduna State-based private university, Green Field University, and abducted an unconfirmed number of students.

Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan said that this occurred on Tuesday night.

Green Field University is located along the Kaduna–Abuja Highway in Chikun Local Government Area.

The university is also the first private university in the state and was established three years ago.

Recall that 39 students were abducted from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State in March.

Five of the students were rescued two weeks ago.

The latest attack is the first major attack on communities along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway since the Federal Government deployed 300 female soldiers to the general area in January.
