David Umahi, Executive Governor of Ebonyi state has placed the state’s Auditor-Generals Innocent Nweda and George Ukpai on indefinite suspension.
This is coming after the Auditors disobeyed a direct instruction from the Governor who demanded a report of the annual financial audited accounts of the state and local government.
The suspension was conveyed in a statement released by Secretary to the State Government(SSG) Kenneth Ugbala.
According to the statement, the auditors have been ordered to hand over the mantle of power to the most ranking officer in the ministry by the close of work on Monday, July 13.
“All handover and takeover should be concluded before the close of work on Monday 13 July 2020,” the statement reads in part.
