Veteran Nollywood actor, Ernest Asuzu has died, his wife, Jennifer confirmed.

The ailing actor died Tuesday evening in Lagos, it was gathered.

According to Jennifer, Asuzu died after he passed out and every effort to revive him failed.

The Herald learnt that his relations are transporting his remains to the South-East for final burial rites.

The actor began acting in the ’90s and rose to prominence after he starred in the 1997 Nollywood classic, ‘Rituals’.

Loved by many for his acting prowess and cool mien, he fell off the radar in 2015 after suffering a stroke.

In a sudden turn of events, the thespian later announced that a pastor, Jeremiah Funfeyin of Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, healed him of the ailment.

He added that Funfeyin gave him an SUV valued at N3.5 million and N1.5 million cash to revive his career.

In an interview with Premium Times in December, the actor revealed how he battled depression for several years.

He, however, signalled his readiness to stage a befitting return to Nollywood.
