A retired school principal who volunteered to deliver ransom money demanded by bandits for some kidnap victims has been abducted by the same bandits in Kaduna State.

It was learnt that the retired principal, whose name has not been ascertained, fell victim to the bandits in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Former senator for Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani confirmed the development in an X post on Tuesday.

He said that the retired principal has spent three days in the kidnappers’ den.

“A retired school principal who volunteered to deliver ransom to kidnappers in order to secure the release of a victim has also been held by the kidnappers in Birnin Gwari lg, Kaduna state.

“He’s been in captivity for 3 days now. The abductors made calls to his family for his ransom.”

Birnin Gwari has become synonymous with widespread kidnappings and banditry.
