Kaka relishes Brazil comeback

Former Fifa World Player of the Year Kaka has reiterated his desire to play in the Brazil team for next month’s World Cup qualifiers against Copa America champions, Chile on October 8 .

The 33-year-old Orlando City star was a surprise inclusion in the squad for September’s Chevrolet Brazil Global Tour double-header with Costa Rica and USA and is desperate to stick around long term.

Kaka has enjoyed a fine start to life in MLS, however, and says he can add valuable experience to the Selecao.

“I think I can contribute with my experience, but especially with my attitude,” he told reporters upon arrival at the Westin Jersey City hotel.

“It is (a) very special to return to the national team,” added the veteran, who last appeared for the Selecao in October 2014.

“I do not know what Dunga’s plans are. But if I get an opportunity in these games against Costa Rica and the United States I want to show that I deserve (to) participate in the qualifiers.”

A World Cup winner in 2002, Kaka has 89 caps for Brazil and helped Dunga to a 2009 Confederations Cup victory.
