Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O Kanayo, has issued a stern warning to parents, urging them to be vigilant and inquire about the sources of monetary gifts received from their children. The actor delivered this cautionary message at a recent event, and the clip has since gone viral on social media.
In the video, Kanayo emphasized the importance of parents instilling a habit of questioning their children about the origin of their possessions. He expressed concern that a lackadaisical attitude towards scrutinizing gifts might be contributing to the development of corrupt mindsets in the younger generation.
The actor specifically highlighted scenarios where parents receive expensive gifts from their children without probing into the source of such generosity. Kanayo O Kanayo pointed out, “Your daughter is 20, she is using a phone of N1.5 million, then she gives you N100,000, and you fail to ask questions about the source. You wouldn’t live long. That is what is killing a lot of parents. Your son who is not working returns home with some money or a car, and you do not ask questions. I’m warning you.“
