Kenyan Woman’s Plot To Assassinate Husband Foiled

An estranged Kenyan wife has resorted to the final means of escape as she contracted hired hitmen to kill her husband, a Kenyan Airports Authority (KAA) employee.

According to the Buburu Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Jeremiah Ikiao, the said wife identified as Bilha Njoki along with her relatives hired hitmen to kill her husband but plans went south when the police got wind of the plot and instead laid am ambush to catch her.

Explaining the arrest, Ikiao revealed that detectives had a day earlier to the arrest tricked the estranged wife, Njoki by telling her the assassination attempt had been successful adding that the husband’s body had been dumped in Dandora.

Njoki, after receiving the news was reported to have sent her brother and a friend to the crime scene for confirmation.

The said detectives who acted in the capacity of the hitmen had staged a scene at the spot where they claimed to have assassinated the husband by covering his body with blood.

The two who upon confirmation of the husband’s faked death rejoiced and passed the news on were at this point arrested and made to confesses the estranged wife’s location before her arrest.

The police informant also had been recording the situation as it unfold in a nearby restaurant located along Manyanja Road.

Records of all calls made and contacts established with the estranged wife had also been kept as hard evidence to see the case through.

Bilha Njoki was later arrested in company of her sister near the Mama Lucy Hospital where they both were in a black Toyota Harrier vehicle. The sum of Sh400, 000 and six mobile phones were also recovered from them.

Further investigation revealed that the recovered amount was the balance payment of the Sh500,000 charged for service by the supposed hitmen.

The husband, a resident of Buruburu Phase 5 in his statement said he married the woman in 2007, adding that they were now separated with the two children they both had in his custody.

The case is expected to be charged to court on Friday for conspiracy to commit murder.
