Keyamo slams PDP supporters over claims on Zamfara

The Director of Strategic Communications for the Buhari Campaign Organisation, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has slammed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters for blaming President Muhammadu Buhari for the security situation in Zamfara State.

Recall that Buhari scored 438,682 votes to defeat his closest challenger and PDP candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who scored 125,423 votes, in the presidential election in Zamfara.

After series of reported killings and kidnappings in recent times, some Nigerians took to social media recently to blame the people of Zamfara for voting for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Buhari in the just-concluded election.

Some protesters under the aegis of #March4Zamfara also flayed the APC-led Federal Government for failing to curb incessant killings and kidnappings by bandits in the state.

However, Keyamo said that Buhari and the APC should not be blamed for the security situation in the state.

Taking to his verified Twitter handle, the senior lawyer said, “Those who’re deriding the people of Zamfara for voting President Muhammadu Buhari, despite security challenges, are not really shaming them; they’re rather shaming their own Presidential candidate who, in spite of these challenges, was never considered a trustworthy alternative to PMB by the Zamfara people.”
