Renowned Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has revealed that she and her partner, music executive and show promoter Paul Okoye, popularly known as Paulo, are content with their relationship, even though they have chosen not to tie the knot. In a recent episode of her TV show, Iyabo Ojo TV, featuring veteran singer Charly Boy as a guest, the actress expressed her joy in their unconventional relationship.
Ojo candidly shared, “I am enjoying my relationship. I am enjoying it. Luckily for me, he also doesn’t believe in marriage. We feel like it is overrated.” The actress made it clear that both she and Paulo have found happiness in their current situation, challenging societal norms about the necessity of marriage.
Charly Boy, in agreement with Ojo’s perspective, shared a humorous anecdote, stating, “My son called me the other day and said, ‘Dad, why can’t people have a contract and say we will just do five years in marriage and if we are lucky and happy, we renew the contract?’” He emphasized the changing dynamics of contemporary marriages, highlighting the shift towards individualism and independence.
