Three men on Friday appeared in a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kafanchan, Kaduna State for allegedly destroying two transformers worth N3.5 million.
The police charged Uche Israel, Auwal Sani and Barau Umar with criminal trespass, theft and assisting in concealment of stolen property.
The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Esther Bishen, told the court that one Dauda Afra of Godogodo chiefdom reported the matter at the station on March 4.

The offence, she said, is punshibale under sections 59, 334, 271 and 304 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017.
When the charges were read to them, they all pleaded not guilty.
The prosecution prayed the court for adjournment to enable it call its witnesses to establish its case.
In his ruling, the presiding judge, Abdulaziz Ibrahim, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N500, 000 with one surety each in like sum.
Ibrahim adjourned the case until April 9 for further mention.
