Prominent Big Brother Naija reality show star, Ike Onyema, has opened up about his relationship with his ex-partner and fellow reality TV star, Mercy Eke, stating that they have found a better dynamic as friends rather than romantic partners.
In an appearance on Cool FM Nigeria’s Big Friday Show, hosted by another TV reality star, Tacha, Ike candidly discussed why he chose not to reignite their romantic relationship during the just concluded All-Stars edition of the popular reality show. He emphasized that attempting to rekindle relationships with exes often doesn’t lead to desired outcomes.
“I didn’t rekindle my relationship with Mercy in the just concluded Big Brother Naija All Stars season because we are better off as friends,” Ike explained, shedding light on his perspective regarding their relationship.
He further shared his belief that rekindling a romance with an ex can be a complicated endeavor, implying that it might not always yield the expected results.
Recall that Ike and Mercy initially formed a romantic relationship during the Big Brother Naija ‘Pepper Dem’ season in 2019. However, their romantic journey faced challenges and eventually came to an end shortly after the show concluded. The pair have since maintained a friendship, opting for a supportive and platonic bond instead of rekindling their past romance.
