Messi Jumps Ahead Of Salah In Golden Shoe Race

1 Min Read

Lionel Messi banged in three goals in Barcelona’s 4-2 win over Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday night to go above Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden Shoe for the current season.

Before the game, Messi had fallen two goals short of Liverpool’s Salah, who was already on 31 league goals to lead the pack in the English Premier League.

However three goals from the diminutive Argentine helped him leapfrog the Egyptian to put his total tally in the current La Liga campaign at 32.

Coming in third place is Lazio’s Ciro Immobile with 29 goals, while Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski with 28 goals and Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi with 27 goals come in fourth and fifth places respectively.
