Nigerians Abroad In Panic As UK Set To Deport Anyone Earning Less Than £35,000

The newly elected Prime Minister of Britain, Theresa May on Friday announced a new order which will see to the deportation of foreigners, Nigerians included, who earned less than the minimum threshold which is pegged at £35,000.

According to the new law, foreigners who had lived in the country for more than five years will have to demonstrate earnings of more than £35,000 or be denied settlement in the UK.

The new policy however exempts nurses from the rules as there is panic as regards the widespread shortage of workers across the NHS.

Meanwhile, a petition has been launched to try to still the sharp rise in minimum income requirements. The petition has so far gathered about 2,000 signatures.
