Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) has stated that Chinese Doctors will not be allowed to treat Nigerian patients suffering from Coronavirus.

China which recorded over 81,740 cases of COVID-19 and 3,331 deaths has sent a team of 15  Doctors over to Nigeria to share their knowledge and expertise on Infectious Disease, respiratory illness, intensive care, cardiology, neurology, general surgery and anesthesiology in combatting COVID-19.

However, NMA kicked against the federal government insisting the foreign Doctors have nothing to offer Nigerians which will improve the current situation.

Speaking to newsmen, President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Dr. Francis Faduyile said in no uncertain terms said that it will be a breach of medical ethics for Chinese Doctors to treat.

“Our stand has not changed and we still insist that there is nothing that they (Chinese) want to offer that can improve what we have on ground.

“There are so many things that we need to put into consideration because it is a war affecting ordinary Nigerians, and sometimes you look at the risk and benefits.

“Our members will look at what is on ground; if we are doing what we are doing and they (Chinese) do not interfere with us, we will continue doing what we are doing for Nigerians.
