The presidency has debunked claims that President Buhari is to address the nation today on COVID-19 updates.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina via his official twitter page disclosed that no presidential broadcast was scheduled to hold today, Monday.
Adesina tweeted: “No presidential broadcast on COVID-19 updates today. None was planned. Rather, the Presidential Task Force will during its usual media briefings bring the nation up to speed on the next steps.”
Earlier on, Aliyu Sani, the national coordinator of the presidential task force on COVID-19, announced that President Muhammadu Buhari will address the nation in a broadcast on Monday following the end of the first phase of the gradual easing of the COVID-19 lockdown when he appeared on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
According to Aliyu, the president was to decide on whether or not the country should go ahead with the second phase of the easing of the lockdown.
