Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has condemned alleged widespread irregularities in Thursday’s gubernatorial rerun election in Osun State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Gboyega Oyetola the governor-elect after he polled 255, 505 votes to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Sen. Ademola Adeleke’s 255,023.

But the vocal ex-minister described the rerun, which took place in seven polling units in the state, as cheating.

According to him, concerns raised by European Union, United States and United Kingdom observers about the rerun has cast doubts over the legitimacy of the election.

Fani-Kayode added that the last had not been heard about the Osun gubernatorial election.

Taking to his verified Twitter handle, the PDP chieftain said, “When the European Union,United States and United Kingdom condemn an election, question its legitimacy and raise concerns about its conduct and outcome it speaks volumes. The last has not been heard about what transpired in Osun state. Nobody cheats the Yoruba without consequence.”
