The Director-General, Obi-Datti Campaign Organisation, Dr. Doyin Okupe, says the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi will no longer attend debates if other frontline candidates do not show up.

Okupe said this in a press statement in Abuja on Monday.

The campaign DG said Obi would no longer debate with running mates or surrogates of the other presidential candidates.

He said that the LP candidate was also prepared to back out of any debate even at the last minute should other presidential candidates fail to show up.

Recall that only three out of five invited presidential candidates attended Sunday night’s Town Hall meeting organised by the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) and Arise Television.

They are the residential candidates of Labour Party (LP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Mr Peter Obi, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Mr Kola Abiola respectively.

The presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar failed to show up, although the latter was represented by his running mate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
