The Ogun State Governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun on Wednesday expressed his disappointment at the fresh threat issued by the state workers.
The Ogun state workers had issued an ultimatum to embark on a strike starting Thursday should the state government fail to meet its demands.
In reaction to the fresh threat, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun while speaking at a town hall meeting held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta lashed out at the state workers.
During the town hall meeting organised by Ministry of Budget and Planning, the Ogun state Governor said he would institute a no-work-no-pay policy to combat with the unreasonable workers.
He noted that the state workers have chosen to be unreasonable despite the nationwide financial challenges.
Further noting that the state is one of the leading states in the country n terms of workers welfare and salaries payment, Senator Amosun said: “We all know this, yet some are not using their brains. They don’t have brains and they don’t know what they are doing.
“They don’t have sense. I cannot give what I don’t have. Teachers alone collect N2 billion monthly.”
He further added: “If you want to join politics go and resign, you can then become card carrying member of political parties, you can start printing posters if you want to contest.”
