Only God can repay Buhari for building new prisons in Kano, Katsina, Bauchi – Shehu Sani

The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Sen. Shehu Sani, has mocked President Muhammadu Buhari over newly-built and furnished prisons in Kano, Katsina and Bauchi states.

In a sarcastic message he shared via his verified Twitter handle, Sani described the new prisons as a “wonderful thing”.

Sani is immensely popular for deploying sarcasm while commenting on socio-political issues in the country.

The Herald recalls that the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) laid a 3,000 capacity ultra-modern prison in Janguza – a satellite town in Tofa Local Government Area of Kano state in March 2018.

It was at completion expected to be the largest prison facility built in Nigeria.

The Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari disclosed in September 2016 that the Federal Government had awarded a contract for a new prison to be sited along Jibiya road in Katsina metropolis.

Special Adviser to Minister of Interior, Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, Hon. Aliyu Ibrahim Gebi, disclosed in April 2018 that the Federal Government had concluded plans to build a 3,000 capacity north east zonal prison in Bauchi at the cost of N13 billion.

Speaking on the construction of new prison facilities in the three states, Sani said, “Kano, Katsina and Bauchi all have newly built and furnished prisons; Kudos to Baba,in short na only God fit pay you back for this wonderful thing wey you do for these people.”
