Ortom Presents Five-Point Development Plan

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, said his administration would tackle the problems of the state through a five-point development plan.

In his inaugural speech on Friday in Makurdi, Ortom said his administration would focus on good governance and revenue security, education, health services, investments and promotion of gender and youth equality.

He said his administration would vigorously pursue the programmes to uplift the standard of living of the people, adding that public officers would be held accountable for their actions.

He vowed to recover funds looted from the treasury of the state and said that culprits would be prosecuted.

He said: “Government officials who mismanaged public funds will be sanctioned according to the law. They must account for all their deeds while in office.”

Ortom promised to introduce measures that would revive the state’s ailing economy to enable him commence his party’s free education scheme from primary to secondary school levels.
