Osinbajo To Declare Open 2021 Abia Business Summit, Commission State Projects

Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo, will be declaring open the Abia 2021 Business and Leadership Summit scheduled for Aba, the economic hub of the South-east.

The Director General of the Abia State Marketing and Quality Management Agency (ASMQMA), Mr. Sam Hart, said that the Vice President who is the Special Guest of Honour of this summit will inaugurate some projects in Aba executed by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu during his visit.

The summit titled: ‘Transferring Tested and Proven Business Models to the Next Generation’ was put together by the Abia State Government in conjunction with Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA).

According to Mr Hart, it is aimed at looking into the reason why many businesses of yore completely died, and come up with solutions that would ensure the longevity of current successful businesses in the city and Abia State by extension.

“History is replete with a long list of successful businesses from time immemorial. These businesses, sadly, are only now being talked about with nostalgia and in past tense because they are no longer in existence and the ashes of their glory have long since evaporated. Aba, as a cosmopolitan business melting pot has had its own fair share of these great businesses of yore which are no more.

“The Abia State Government, in conjunction with the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA), have decided to host a Summit to look into the issues relating to this malaise and begin to synthesize solutions that will ensure the longevity of current successful businesses in the city and Abia State by extension.

“Honestly, an economically vibrant Aba is very important to the GDP of Abia State. Aba remains the economic livewire of Abia State and the Government and the business community must continue to work together to ensure the continuous vibrancy of the business ecosystem in the city for the overall good of the State,” he said.

The summit taking place between May 26 and 27 at the Aba Sports Club, Aba, would be graced by Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, financial experts, manufacturers, innovators, entrepreneurs and academics, among others.

Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election, Mr. Peter Obi, would deliver the first keynote speech on the opening day of the summit.

Lead Discussant on the Pathway to Trans-generational Wealth Transfer -Aba as a case Study, is a renowned Development Expert, Nana Nwachukwu while panelists include: Emeka Onwuka, Ide John Udeagbala, Prof. Gregory Ibe, Mr. Nnamdi Ezeigbo and Mr. Darl Uzu.

The Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Group, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, will deliver the keynote speech on the second day of the summit while the panel session will dwell on Harnessing Inbuilt Opportunities for Trans-generational Wealth Transfer – The Aba Model.

The Group Head, Operations, UBA, Mr. Alex Alozie, is the Lead Discussant while other panelists are Prof. Barth Nnaji, Uche Orji, Sir Lawrence Obeta, Uduakommiri Leo Nnodum Okoye and Chief Jerry Kalu.

The Audience Moderation will be handled by Lehle Balde, Businessday Newspapers.
