PDP Crises: FG moves to relieve Baraje as Chairman of the board of Nigerian Railway Corp

The Presidency is said to be set to move against members of the New PDP who are holding plum jobs in boards and agencies in the Jonathan administration.

Likely to be affected is the head of the New PDP, Kawu Baraje who also sits as the Chairman of the board of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).

A source within the Presidency said it would soon be the turn of the New PDP to beg after the pleas of the Presidency and the Tukur led PDP fell on deaf ears.

The anonymous source said, “This is just the beginning. We have pleaded with them and we have even made concessions but they are adamant. It will soon be their turn to beg.”

Also, Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak has said he would have expected the New PDP members challenging Jonathan to resign honourably prior to their mud slinging.

He said,  “I am not aware of any plan to sack those of them on boards of government agencies but if I were Baraje, I would have resigned my appointment before fighting the person that appointed me. That is the honourable thing to do.”

Gulak however denied knowledge that any plans were afoot to sack the New PDP leaders.
